I agree: Improv comedy is one of the best ways to get better at almost anything. I remember a class where they told us, “You can’t be afraid to fail. Improv is designed to make you fail.”

Writing a first draft does feel like walking out on the set, not knowing what’s coming next. You just hope your reader will accept with a “yes and.”
